SewMod is clearing out all of the Art Gallery Oval Elements from the studio. These are NOT on sale in the Esty shop because I do not want to under sell any of the other fabric shops out there selling at regular price so if you’re interested please leave me a comment or send me an email and I will set up a custom PayPal invoice.
**Please let me know which fabric/fabrics you’d like by the stickered number on the bolt in the pic.
**All Oval Elements are $6/yard plus the cheapest shipping possible according to your zip code or if you’re a CLMQG guild member I can bring it to the November meeting saving you from any shipping charges-
Heading out this morning with a car full of fabric, quilt kits, samples and a Pumpkin Spice Latte in tow to the Dupage County Fairgrounds to set up the SewMod booth. My favorite part! Since I don’t have a brick & mortar shop, setting up a ‘pop up’ shop is the next best thing to get my quilty decorating fix on.
This quilt show is always fantastic with beautiful quilts to wander through and lots of vendors. So go grab your own favorite fall drink and hustle down to the address below Friday & Saturday.
Treat Yo Self to some fabric this weekend girls! Gahhhh…I miss Parks & Rec don’t y’all?

It’s only fitting that I am lucky enough to make the Duck Row. After we arrived home from Spring Break, a mama duck had made a perfect little nest in the bush next to our stairs. I checked on them everyday to see if they were safe or had hatched. The Duck Row is a little reminder of the guest we had this year!
The row has 5 baby ducks and a Mama, so there were a lot of pieces. The Alphabitties I had came into good use keeping track of them. Otherwise, I know I would have wasted tons of time trying to figure out the dimensions and placement.
The blocks went together easily and I was finished in an afternoon. And I must say that I’m super pleased with all it’s quacky cuteness!
We’re almost finished! Next week are the Borders & Finishing with Kristin. And don’t forget to visit all of the other blogs for your inspiration to quilt along.

Block 13✔️ Bee-Romantic is the reason why I fell in love with this quilt along…my obsession with vintage bicycles with a basket full of flowers!
One more pic…The basket was done with a basket weave stitch just in case you’re wondering.
Block 14✔️ Bee-Good. Yummy honey. I honestly eat honey straight from that squeezable bear!
Block 15✔️ Bee-Courageous. Go for it kitty. Grab that cupcake. You only live once!
Block 16✔️ Bee-Sunny. Go fly a kite!!
Only 4 more blocks to go🐝
I’m hopping right along with my Moda Bake Shop summer progress! I love staring with a great pattern and adding my own spin with color and fabric. So if you’re checking out the MBS blocks, mine look a wee bit different. For instance, I’m not using the recommended fabrics. Instead I choose a more ‘Lorrie‘ palate and went with the Riley Blake Backyard Roses line. Bright colors with a retro 30’s feel.
Block 9✔️ Bee-Fruitful On this block I chose to machine applique the napkin/quilt the watermelon is resting on instead of embroidering it and added a lazy daisy stitch as the seeds.
Block 10✔️ Bee-Kind The changes I made to this block were simply floss color choices and added eyelashes to her because who doesn’t love pink fluffy bunnies!
Block 11✔️ Bee-Industrious Once again, it’s all in the colors. A brighter green tractor and I added more color with some purple wildflowers to the grass.
Block 12✔️ Bee-Grateful I just substituted the wool hive entrance with a brown cotton plaid. Easy-peasy:)
Don’t be afraid to take an existing pattern and create your own version, your own vision of it. Small changes can make a big impact. This is how we grow as quilter’s. Go outside of the box and Bee-Creative!!
We’re being invaded…by cute animals taking a ride above the neighborhood in planes, saucers, and balloons! Seeing Stars is back in stock and kitted in a Riley Blake design called ‘Little Flyers’. The fabrics are perfect for this pattern. Just like the fabric says…it’s awesome!
Machine appliqued planes soar through this quilt among half square triangle (HST) stars. The smoke trails are hand embroidered in different colors using a straight stitch to add that special touch to the baby quilt.
HST’s are made using the Spinning Star papers to give you perfect half square triangles every time! You can find a quick demo HERE on the papers.
Quilt measures 45″ square. Kit includes instructions, the HST papers, fabric for the quilt top and binding. Batting & backing are NOT included. The kits can be found in the SewModDesigns Etsy shop.
It’s hot y’all! But no matter how hot it gets here in Chicagoland, I know I can brave it cause it ain’t hot till you’ve lived your summers in OKC and the heat slaps you in the face and the humidity takes your breath away. So it’s hot here, but it ain’t that hot!
To stay outta the heat for awhile, I’ve been catching up on my Bee-utiful embroidery blocks. Take a peek and try to find yourself something to do this summer to get outta the heat dome!
Block 5✔️ Bee-Courteous…Check out those tiny 1/4″ hexies I made scattered in with the embroidered ones.
Block 6✔️ Bee-Sweet
Block 7✔️ Bee-Charming
Block 8✔️ Bee-Simple
You can find all of the blocks in the quilt along that have come out so far at Moda Bake Shop.
